The NWPIC is a non-profit organization created in 1983 to administer job training activities under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA).
The NWPIC serves as the administrative entity and grant recipient for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in partnership with a Local Elected Officials (LEO) Board.
The NWPIC serves the residents of Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake and Roseau Counties.
The NWPIC administers over $2.2 million in Federal and State job training funding.
The NWPIC represents a partnership of businesses and government to serve the region’s workforce development needs.
The NWPIC has an 18 member governing council representing the private sector, education, public assistance agencies, organized labor, rehabilitation agencies, community based organizations, economic development, and the public employment service.
The NWPIC oversees job preparation services that assist individuals in acquiring the skills needed to compete in today's rapidly changing job market.
The NWPIC contracts with Inter-County Community Council, Inc. and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for the delivery of workforce development services.
